Why I Started a Veteran & Woman-Owned Lifted Lifestyle Brand

Heyyyy Y'allll. 🤠

I want to tell y'all something real today. Not a product drop, not a promo — just the story of how Southern StonerĀ® came to be, straight from the person who built it.

Pull up a chair. This won't take long.

Texas Born. Florida Made.

I'm a Texas girl. Born and raised with that Southern backbone in my blood — the kind that doesn't quit, doesn't complain, and absolutely does not ask for permission.

After the Air Force, life landed me in Florida, and I've been here going on 20 years now. Florida became home. The back roads, the bayous, the boat days, the kind of heat that makes you earn every single porch sit. It's Southern in its own way — looser, saltier, wilder — and it fit me just right.

I've always been a hard worker. Military will do that to you. But I've also always known how to live easy — how to flip the switch at the end of the day, exhale, and just be. How to find that lifted place where the week can't reach you anymore.

That balance — hard workin', easy livin', always lifted — that's not something I learned. It's something I've always been.

There Was Nothing Out There For Me

Here's the part that started everything.

A few years back I was looking for something to wear that actually said something — something that represented this lifestyle. My lifestyle. Southern, real, a little lifted, unapologetic, with a sense of humor about the whole thing.

And I couldn't find it.

There were plenty of generic "Southern" brands. Plenty of stoner brands. But something that was both? Something that captured the hard-working, back-road, front-porch, always-lifted Southern soul? That felt like me?

Nothing.

So I did what any reasonable person does when they can't find what they're looking for.

I built it. šŸ˜

A Design Idea and a Whole Lot of "Why Not"

In 2020, Southern StonerĀ® went from an idea in my head to a real, live brand.

I had a design concept rattling around — something that felt Southern and bold and real — and instead of sitting on it, I just went for it. No big business plan. No investors. No team. Just a veteran woman who knew what she wanted and wasn't going to wait around for someone else to make it.

That first design led to another. And another. And before long, Southern StonerĀ® had a full collection, a Shopify store, and a whole community of people who felt exactly the same way I did — people who had been waiting for this brand without even knowing it.

What Southern StonerĀ® Actually Is

It's not just a t-shirt company. I want to be real clear about that.

Southern StonerĀ® is a lifted lifestyle brand — built for the hardworking, easy-living, Southern-to-the-bone people who don't need to explain themselves to anybody.

It's for the veterans. The back-road drivers. The pontoon people. The ones who fix things with their hands and feel things in their bones. The women who run the show and the men who know hard work is its own reward. The people who live lifted and aren't ashamed of a single bit of it.

It's veteran and woman-owned — not because I want a badge for it, but because that's just what it is. I built this from the ground up the same way I've built everything in my life — with my own two hands, my own two eyes, and zero apologies.

Why It Matters to Me That You're Here

Every time someone orders from Southern StonerĀ®, they're not just buying a shirt. They're supporting a one-woman, veteran-owned small business that started because a Texas girl in Florida couldn't find what she was looking for and decided to make it herself.

That means something to me. More than I can probably put into words on a blog post.

So if you're here — thank you. Whether you've been with Southern StonerĀ® since the beginning or you just stumbled onto The Back Porch today, you belong here.

This brand was built for you.

Hard Workin'. Easy Livin'. Always Lifted. šŸ¤™
